The Crandall University Men’s Hoop Classic has a long tradition of honoring individuals in the Greater Moncton area who have made tremendous contributions to the game of basketball over the years. The contributions can come in the form of Builder, Coach or Referee
From 1983 to 2008, The Hoop Committee selected one deserving person to act as the Honorary Chairperson for the tournament. This individual was recognized throughout the tournament for their contributions to the game.
From 2009 to 2013, the selection of a Tournament Chairperson was not part of the tournament structure.
In 2014, it was decided to resume the selection of an Honorary Chairperson. It was at this time it was decided to select two Honorary Chairpersons, one to represent each division of the tournament.
